Home to the iconic Cinderella Castle, this was the very first theme park to open at Walt Disney World Resort. Here, you’ll find a wide variety of family-friendly attractions, Disney Character experiences and fan-favorite food & beverages spread across 6 distinct areas.

Magic Kingdom Park is what guests think of when they picture Disney World. It has Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, and lots more in six themed lands. “The Most Magical Place on Earth” opened on October 1, 1971. The world’s most famous theme park, Magic Kingdom   ®Park at Walt Disney World   ®Resort in Orlando is the place where childhood dreams come true. With more than 40 unforgettable attractions, themed dining and shopping, and countless surprises, your imagination is the limit when you’re at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

Magic Kingdom Park is divided into six themed lands, each with a different focus. After arriving at the park by your choice of ferry or monorail, you’ll stroll through the gates into the first area, Main Street, U.S.A. ®. Here, you can hop aboard the Walt Disney World   ®Railroad for a unique tour of the park (when available), or head off on foot to see what else is in store for you.

Where you go from there is up to you. If you opt for a clockwise direction, you’ll discover Adventureland   ®and its classic attractions. Famous attractions here include Pirates of the Caribbean   ®and Jungle Cruise ®.  You can also cool off in comfort as playful Audio-Animatronic birds entertain you at Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.

If you left Main Street, U.S.A., aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad (when available), you’ll be able to disembark at our next stop, Frontierland ®. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad   ®provides big thrills in this section, or embrace the spirit of exploration on Tom Sawyer Island. Next, you’ll come to Liberty Square, where you can party with 999 happy haunts at Haunted Mansion ®. Or, hear what past and present U.S. leaders have to say — literally — at The Hall of Presidents.

But enough with anything involving the real world — it’s time to move on to Fantasyland ®, which is home to Cinderella Castle and also features a stop on the Walt Disney World Railroad (when available). In this land, you can soar at Peter Pan’s Flight ®, enjoy a rocky ride at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and take a musical journey around the globe at “it’s a small world” ®, among other attractions.

Last but not least, Tomorrowland   ®will take you to the future. In addition to white-knuckle excitement on Space Mountain ®, this area has two great ways to enjoy a relaxing break between thrills: Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress and Tomorrowland   ®Transit Authority PeopleMover. And starting April 4, 2023, Tomorrowland will be home to the newest Walt Disney World thrill ride: TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise.

Beyond its rides and shows — including the return of the Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular on April 3, 2023 — Magic Kingdom Park is packed with character encounters, fun shops and a wide range of dining options. It also traditionally hosts two of Orlando’s most popular annual events: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the lead-up to Halloween, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party during the holidays.

With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder why Magic Kingdom Park continues to be a must-visit for millions of people around the world more than a half-century since it opened. See below for more details on Magic Kingdom Park’s attractions, special features and events, and make sure it’s on your itinerary during your next visit to Orlando.
